Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

Yuichi Yokota (“we,” “us,” or “our”) establishes this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) to describe how we handle Users' personal information in the Yorishiro iOS application, Android application, and web application (https://yorishiro.me; the “Web Version”; all versions collectively, the “App”).

Article 1 (Basic Policy)

We respect Users' privacy, comply with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws and regulations, and handle personal information appropriately.

Article 2 (Information We Collect)

The App collects the following information.

1. Account identifiers

iOS version: An identifier is issued internally through Supabase Anonymous Authentication. By default, it does not contain personally identifying information such as a name, email address, or telephone number. It is used only to manage journal data, plan status, and usage limits. In the Android version, if the User does not register an account, journal data is stored only on the User's device and is not sent to our servers.

If a User voluntarily registers an account using an email address, Apple ID, or Google Account, we collect the email address or identifier provided by the authentication provider. Available authentication methods vary by platform; the Android version supports email addresses and Google Accounts. Account registration is used to synchronize journal data across multiple devices and the Web Version. The main features of the iOS and Android versions remain available locally on the device without registration.

Web Version: Registration using an email address, Apple ID, or Google Account is required to use the Web Version. We collect the applicable email address or the identifier provided by the authentication provider at registration.

2. Nickname

We collect a nickname only if the User chooses to set one. A nickname is optional, and the App's main features remain available without one.

3. Journal entries and other free-form text

We store journal entries entered by the User, AI-rewritten entries, text submitted for conversational analysis, and text used to generate profiles.

4. Self-reported data about emotions, thoughts, and condition

We store information self-reported by the User, including mood, mental state, physical energy scores, thinking tendencies, and self-care context.

5. Purchase history and plan status

We store monthly or annual plan status, Apple StoreKit transaction information for the iOS version, and entitlement synchronization information. We do not collect payment details such as credit card information. Payments in the iOS version are processed by Apple, and we cannot access those payment details. The Android version does not currently offer in-app purchases. Paid-plan entitlement status is shared across platforms when the User signs in with the same account.

Web Version: Paid plans for the Web Version may be purchased by credit card through the payment system provided by Stripe, Inc. Credit card information is processed directly by Stripe, and we do not obtain or retain card numbers or similar information. To the extent necessary for billing management, we store the customer identifier issued by Stripe, subscription status, and purchase history. For information about Stripe's handling of personal information, see Stripe's Privacy Policy.

6. Usage data

We collect data within the scope necessary to manage feature limits and improve quality, including the number and type of AI features used.

7. Standard app analytics data

We may obtain standard app usage statistics through Apple App Analytics for the iOS version and Google Play Console for the Android version, including crash reports, device types, and operating system versions. Apple or Google aggregates this information, and we do not receive it in a form that identifies individual Users.

Web Version: The Web Version does not currently use third-party analytics tools for advertising or tracking. Standard access logs maintained by the hosting provider, Vercel, Inc., including IP addresses and access timestamps, may be recorded for troubleshooting and security purposes.

Article 3 (Purposes of Use)

We use collected information only for the following purposes:

  1. Providing and operating the App and its features
  2. Synchronizing journal data across multiple devices and the Web Version for registered Users
  3. Providing AI analysis of text entered by Users
  4. Managing usage and controlling feature limits
  5. Managing paid plans and synchronizing purchase history
  6. Preventing unauthorized use
  7. Responding to inquiries
  8. Improving the App and developing new features
  9. Responding to requests from legal or regulatory authorities

Article 4 (AI Features and Data Transmission)

1. AI service used

The App's AI features use the Claude API provided by Anthropic, PBC. (https://www.anthropic.com).

2. Data transmitted

Journal entries entered by Users, text submitted for conversational analysis, and data used to generate profiles are transmitted to Anthropic's API servers for AI processing.

3. Handling of data

Anthropic, PBC. publicly states that it does not use data received through its API to train its models. For current information about its data practices, see Anthropic, PBC.'s Privacy Policy.

4. User choice

Users may choose not to use the App's AI features. Please note that many of the App's main features will be unavailable if AI features are not used.

Article 5 (Data Storage and Management)

1. Storage location

App data is stored in a database in Supabase's Northeast Asia (Tokyo) region.

2. Security measures

All communications are encrypted using HTTPS. API keys are managed only on the server side and cannot be accessed directly by the client application.

3. Backups

Data is backed up automatically in accordance with Supabase's standard backup policy. Backups are maintained for disaster recovery and data protection and are not retained longer than necessary.

4. Data retention period

Data is retained for as long as the User uses the App. If the User requests deletion, the data will be deleted in accordance with Article 7 of this Policy.

Article 6 (Disclosure to Third Parties)

We do not provide collected information to third parties except in the following circumstances:

  1. When the User has given consent
  2. When required by law
  3. When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property and obtaining the person's consent is difficult
  4. When particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound development of children and obtaining the person's consent is difficult
  5. When cooperation is necessary for a national government body, local government, or a person acting on its behalf to perform duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the person's consent could impede performance of those duties

Transmission of data to Anthropic, PBC.'s API for AI analysis and transmission of information required for payment processing to Stripe, Inc. for the Web Version are essential components of providing the service. Users are deemed to consent to these transmissions by using the App.

Article 7 (User Rights and Data Deletion Requests)

1. Deleting an account in the App or Web Version

Users may delete their account and journal data at any time by going to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the App or Web Version. Deletion removes journal data, analysis results, and account information stored on the server, as well as journal data stored on the device. This action cannot be undone.

2. Requests for disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or deletion

In addition to in-app deletion described above, Users may request disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or deletion of their information.

3. Handling of data deletion requests

As a general rule, we respond to a User's data deletion request within 30 days after completing identity verification. We make every effort to respond as promptly as possible.

4. Exceptions

Some or all data may be excluded from deletion in the following circumstances:

5. Delays

If we cannot respond within 30 days because identity verification requires additional time, technical review is necessary, or for another reason, we will inform the requesting person of the reason and the expected response date.

6. Request contact

For data deletion or to exercise any other right, please contact us at the address below.

If you are experiencing severe depression or anxiety, or if you need urgent support, do not rely solely on the App. Please consult a parent or guardian, a medical institution, or an appropriate support service.
